Short Film Definition

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits". Personally, I would agree with this definition but you could simplify it further to say that a short film is anything below the length of a regular feature film, with there being no specific boundary that short film makers have to conform to.
