Screenplay Joe Bainbridge
INT. HOUSE –
NIGHT
Screen is
black but a shrill scream is heard and the picture appears abruptly
Loud,
distressing, panic inducing music follows that builds to a crescendo as he
breaks the door down later on
Protagonist
is sprinting along the hallway towards the camera at speed but the camera is
dolling backwards at an equal speed
Long shot of
protagonist with his back to audience as he crashes through bedroom door, loud
crash, thud and grunt of pain from protagonist
Over the
shoulder medium close up on the villain opening the slide up window opposite
the door to escape zooms in to become a close up as he slows his escape so he
can turn his head to look at the protagonist, the villains eyes are stone like,
unremorseful and cold
When
the protagonist sees the villain the music again begins to build to a crescendo
that happens when he sees his dead wife’s body
A medium
close up also zooms in to become a close up of the protagonist to show his rage
and deep breaths
The same close
up shot of the villain is shown again, as his eyes slowly move to behind the
bed where the protagonist’s wife lies
Once again
the same close up is shown of the protagonist as he looks slowly in the
direction the villain hinted at
A mid shot of
the murdered wife follows which quickly cuts to a succession of extreme close
ups of her injuries that finish with her lifeless eyes
Another close
up of the protagonist, this time his reaction to what he has seen, his eyes
fill with rage and his breathing deepens, He then screams with rage
As the scream
continues there is a long shot much like the one earlier, featuring the back of
the protagonist who starts to charge and the villain at the window who then
swiftly opens the window and slips out
A POV shot
ends the scene with the camera pointing out of the window looking down on the
fleeing assailant
MUSIC
Lighting-
very dark, visibility is difficult
